Choosing the right driver education school for your teenager is something that should be taken very seriously. While all State of Ohio driver education schools are licensed and certified through the Ohio Department of Public Safety, they are NOT all alike!

Unfortunately, this is a popular misconception and one that leads parents to base their decision on cost, location and/or convenience. Instead, you must do your homework and act in the best interests of your child.

Please review the AAA brochure “Choosing a Driving School”. This valuable information will give you tips on checking references, meeting with the school manager, interviewing the “behind the wheel” instructor(s) and what to look for in the curriculum and classroom setting.

Once you have a school in mind, contact the Department of Public Safety (see below) to request a report on the school regarding any past, current or pending violations or suspensions.
